Betrifft:	Warum Jugendliche und Junge Erwachsene die Kirche verlassen

Aus einer E-Mail der FIRM Foundation, die ich erhielt:

      The youth of the Church are being challenged like never before.  There is no denying it.  At an ever increasing rate, young men and women of the Church are losing their faith in the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith.  As a result, they are "leaving [the Church] in droves" (Elder Marlin K. Jensen, Church Historian, Reuters).  What caused this sudden change?  Why are more youth leaving the Church today than at any other time in the past?  The answer can be summed up with a single word: TECHNOLOGY
- specifically, the Internet.  Satan’s blatant lies and cunning misinformation about the Book of Mormon and Church History are now only a click away, and in most cases, the youth are being exposed to the flood of Anti-Mormon literature long before they have a chance to build a strong spiritual testimony to anchor and support themselves against the devil’s "mighty winds" (Helaman 5:12).  Hence, they lose their faith, and leave the Church.
But what can we do about it?  Do we simply stand idly by and watch as Lucifer deceives and leads astray our precious children and grandchildren?  Absolutely not!  If Satan has taken his war against Christ’s true Church to the battlefield of cyberspace, then cyberspace is where we must meet him - as spiritual soldiers, as stripling warriors, and as true Latter-day Saints. 
This is where the FIRM Foundation’s new Online Youth Educational Program comes in.  We call it "Mormon Evidence."  Mormon Evidence utilizes online social media websites (YouTube, FaceBook, and Twitter) to share the many incredible evidences for the Book of Mormon found in the Heartland of the United States, presented in a format the youth can relate to, enjoy and understand.  The Apostle Peter taught that we must "...be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you..." (1 Peter 3:15). 
In order to accomplish the stated goal of Mormon Evidence, we need your help.  How can you help?   Easy:  Simply find us online at www.facebook.com/MormonEvidence and ’LIKE’ our page.  That’s it!  All you have to do is ’LIKE’ us on FaceBook.  The more people we have subscribed to Mormon Evidence, the more of our family and friends will be introduced to the many spiritual and physical witnesses for the Book of Mormon, and the end result, we believe, is that more of our precious youth will be saved.
