Betrifft:	Ehemaliger Missionar lebt heute glücklich und schwul in Utah

Hallo Leute,

ich stellte neulich fest, dass einer meiner Mitstreiter für den Herrn, also einer meiner Ex-Companions auf Mission homosexuell ist. Er schrieb mir ganz kurz seine Geschichte in einer E-Mail, nachdem ich ihn um Bestätigung fragte. Ich fand die Geschichte so herzerwärmend, dass ich sie kurz hier poste! Interessant fand ich auch zu lesen, dass er in Utah gut zurecht kommt. Ich denke, viele Mitglieder denken mittlerweile inoffiziell liberaler, als sie zugeben. Schön, wenn Menschen so leben können, wie es ihrer Persönlichkeit entspricht. Namen habe ich durch Kürzel ersetzt.

Hier kurz der Ausschnitt:

Yeah - gay - been that way as long as I can remember. I thought that going on a mission would "fix" things - but that’s not the case. The guy I am with I have been with for over 10 years now. He was married, has three children and four grandchildren now. The grandchildren call me grandpa or A. - depending on what they want. We moved to Utah just this past year and into our new home in December.

After my mission I didn’t spend too much more time around the church - I pretty much left the church around the same time you did. My parents are very active in the church still, but the do love spending time with me and M. and the grandchildren. What’s even more weird - Ms ex-wife and new husband are coming down to stay with us in a couple of week with all of the kids and grandkids so they can go to a motorbike race here in Salt Lake City. The best part of living in Salt Lake City - most of the Mormons here are pretty cool about us - our neighbors love us and life is pretty much great!
