Betrifft: Aktuelle Meldung

a) Kühlschränke Türen haben

b) Besucherzentren von HLT-Tempeln Türen haben

c) am diesem Wochenende keine Generalkonferenz war

Gibt schon arme Seelen.

"Naked Man Smashes Glass at LDS Building
Suspect critical after diving through hole  Saturday, August 4, 2001

BY KEVIN CANTERA
THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE

A bloody and naked 24-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Friday morning after he smashed through a plate glass window at the main visitor’s center on the LDS temple grounds in St. George.
Police discovered the "combative and resistant" man after following a trail of blood inside the visitors center at about 8 a.m., and used an electric taser to subdue him, said Craig Harding, St. George police spokesman.
The man, who faces possible felony charges, was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery, Harding said.
No one was inside the visitors center -- which had not yet opened for the day -- at the time of the incident, and the suspect did not approach the nearby temple, said Randy Ripplinger, spokesman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The center will remain closed throughout the weekend for cleanup, Ripplinger said.
Beginning around 7:50 a.m., St. George police fielded numerous reports describing a naked man running down the street toward the temple.
After the man neared the visitors center, police "received several more calls that he was pounding on the glass extremely hard," Harding said.
"Just as officers arrived, they saw his feet disappearing" through a hole he had smashed in the glass, Harding said. "He cut himself quite badly."
The large, double-paned window was made of two sheets of glass, each a quarter-inch thick, said Harding, adding "it would have been too dangerous for officers to follow" the suspect through the shattered window.
After gaining access to the building with the help of a maintenance worker, officers found the man inside with his arms around a large statue of Jesus Christ, said Harding. The man then allegedly threatened to attack officers.
Using a taser gun -- which sends an electrical charge from a distance of about 15 feet -- police subdued the man and began treating his injuries, Harding said.
Because of extensive damage to the window, carpet and furniture, the suspect, a St. George resident, faces possible felony charges as well as a misdemeanor trespassing charge, Harding said. The Salt Lake Tribune typically does not name suspects until they have been formally charged.
Harding described the man as "over 6 feet tall and well over 200 pounds."
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident, he said."
