Betrifft: Nicht der Devil - der Lord höchstpersönlich;-) ...

na ja, so heisst/hiess es wenigstens bis vor  kurzem bei den Mormonen.

Also den Spruch mit der Feuerversicherung kennt ja nun wirklich jeder .....
LuB 64:23 .... ’scherzhaft’ (ha, ha, sehr lustig, wenn man wirklich dran glaubt;-)) der ’Feuerversicherungs-Abschnitt/Vers’ genannt ...

"I love this statement by Elder Marion G. Romney. He said, "The payment of tithing is also worthwhile as fire insurance" ("First Presidency Message Concerning Tithing," Ensign, June 1980, 3). The Lord has said, "He that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming" (D&C 64:23). Paying an honest tithing shows the Lord that we are willing to fill our lamps with oil and do what he asks of us. When the Lord comes again in his power and glory, those who have been honest with him will be spared."

"Some years ago one of our brethren spoke of the payment of tithing as “fire insurance.” That statement evoked laughter. Nonetheless, the word of the Lord is clear that those who do not keep the commandments and observe the laws of God shall be burned at the time of his coming. For that shall be a day of judgment and a day of sifting, a day of separating the good from the evil. I would venture a personal opinion that no event has occurred in all the history of the earth as dreadful as will be the day of the Second Coming—no event as fraught with the destructive forces of nature, as consequential for the nations of the earth, as terrible for the wicked, or as wonderful for the righteous."

Gerade wollte ich noch hinzufügen, da ich davon ausgehe, dass Dir das ebenfalls nicht unbekannt ist;-): kommt aber bestimmt mal wieder darauf an, wen man danach fragt, denn was ist bei den Mos schon verbindliche Kirchenlehre? (Da nagelt man ja leichter nen Pudding an die Wand..) Die Apologeten können dazu bestimmt wieder seitenlange Kommentare liefern, dass das alles gar nicht so gemeint ist mit dem Zehnten und dem Brennen und so ....
Aber Rainer ist mir mit seinem passenden Kommentar ja zuvor gekommen ....
