Gordon Bitner Hinckley is the current President of The Church Of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Mormons believe that President Hinckley is the Prophet, Seer and Revelator in this modern day. They believe that he communes with Jesus Christ on a regular basis and in turn reveals to the Members Jesus Christ’s will.
President Hinckley has spent more money on church buildings and temples than any other prophet in history. He spent $650 million dollars on the new LDS Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City. He spent $500 million dollars on the ZCMI and Crossroads malls, also located in downtown Salt Lake City. He plans to spend $1 billion dollars on renovating both malls. His organization is also currently building a lavish hotel in Hawaii estimated at over $300 million dollars.
Gordon B. Hinckley continues the 100 year old tradition of avoiding taking any official church stand on any matter. On live TV he continues to make statements such as "That was in the past, we go forward", and, "I don’t know that we teach that."
The Mormon Prophet lives in a $2.8 million dollar penthouse (24000 sq.ft +) condominium overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. He is driven around by a private shauffer in a 2005 Lexus LS 430. He has 24hr "secret service" bodyguards who protect him anywhere he goes.
